About The Event
Chikka on Roll is a contemporary poetry and storytelling performance by Ruchika Lohiya, bringing together spoken word, personal experiences, emotions and relatable stories in an intimate live setting. Presented as a candle-light poetry show, the experience focuses on the kind of conversations and emotions that often accompany growing up, navigating relationships and finding your way through different phases of life. Ruchika's performance explores themes such as adulting, life in your twenties, love, heartbreak, relationships, friendships, healing and mental health, while also drawing from experiences and stories from her college years. Her style combines poetry and storytelling with moments of reflection and humour, creating a performance that moves between personal experiences and emotions that many people can relate to. The show is designed for audiences who enjoy Hindi poetry, spoken word, storytelling and live performances. Rather than being limited to traditional poetry, Chikka on Roll brings together different forms of expression to create a conversational and emotionally engaging stage experience. Ruchika Lohiya is a writer, storyteller, speaker and content creator whose work often focuses on everyday emotions and personal experiences. Her Chikka on Roll project has also explored the experiences of being an adult in one's twenties through personal stories and conversations. The candle-light setting adds an intimate atmosphere to the performance, allowing the audience to focus on the words, stories and emotions being shared on stage. The event is particularly suited to people who enjoy contemporary Hindi poetry, spoken-word performances and storytelling that touches on relationships, self-reflection and everyday life.
